February ALL NIGHT - 2010 The second All Night of 2010! How is that possible? Red, White and Pink was the theme of the evening. I guess that is because Valentine's Day just passed. The skaters had milk and cookies, the cookies were chocolate chip with red and white chocolate chips...hum..... As usual, Corie went all out in his attempt to follow the theme. He had huge red and white hand prints painted on his face. Then for added fun, the skate center had special visitors - a giant frog, chicken and dog walked all the way around the skate center shaking hands and hugging the skaters. Games and prizes were as fun as always. A variation on dodgeball included playing tag at the same time. The limbo was a blast. If you haven't come, you are missing a lot of fun. March 19th come dressed in green, eat a green treat and play games for 12 hours!!! How can you go wrong?
January ALL NIGHT - 2010 The first All Night Skate of 2010 was a doozey! The sound system went down for 45 minutes but thanks to the work of Alex and Terrance everything was put back together and there was music!!!!! Moon Pies were the food for this Tacky Night Skate. The employees were over the top. Jody, J.J. Kaylin and Corie were spectacular in their tackiness. Of course everyone played games. They played Dodge Ball and more Dodge Ball. The giant candy bar prizes were also a hit. $20, 12 hours of skating and fun with a hot dog, drink and a treat - how can you go wrong? Red and White Night February 19th - Even though Valentine's Day will be passed we will continue to celebrate love. <3
December ALL NIGHT - 2009 Rain, rain and more rain and cold temperatures did not stop the skaters at Skateland from having a great All Night. The milk and cookies, just like Santa would have had were so yummy. And a surprise treat at 5 am - muffins and orange juice - was a big hit. Kathy, the owner, with her Santa hat and beard was a hit with the kids. She even let some of them try it on and pretend to be Santa. As usual, the favorite activity was Dodge Ball! DJ Terrence played great music and there was even some break dancing going on. Kiwook, Kathy's foreign exchange student from Korea, with his friends Robert, Mikey, and James danced and danced until everyone's body was sore. (With and without skates.) Prizes ranged from huge bags of popcorn to chocolate penguins. Don't miss Tacky Night on January 15th, 2010. It will be another great skate at Skateland of Augusta. Come on down! November ALL NIGHT - 2009 Line Dancing, Dodge Ball, and beef jerky ruled last night at Skateland. As always there was loads of fun, good music and strange things to eat at the monthly All Night. There were even break dancing b-boys to entertain. There were cowboys and cowgirls everywhere but only one Indian. The employees are wonderful because they always dress up making the evening so much fun. DJ Snatch and DJ I Am really played great music and threw in lots of country to go along with the skating music. I didn't know so many people loved Oberto beef Jerky but it was all gone this morning. Dodge Ball and tag are still the favorite games and I still didn't get any more Nerf balls. (Falling down on the job). Kaylin posted lots of pictures to her Facebook page. The Christmas theme All Night is going to be great as well. Homemade cookies will be the treat with the skaters staying All Night getting to decorate them. School will be out - give us a try! October ALL NIGHT - 2009 Minnie Mouse met the skaters at the door. Batgirl and Robin waited on them in the snack bar. Luigi and Mario were the DJs with Owlman and the Penguin from Happy Feet as the floor guards. Pippy Longstocking and Kitty Cat Girl won $15 each as the best characters in the building. Everyone was having their pictures made with their favorite employee last night. For the special treat there were homemade cupcakes which the skaters got to ice and them choose the topping of their choice. Yum......Of course the favorite game was Dodge Ball! I am going to have to get more Nerf Balls for next month! Cartoon music was all the rage on the buffers times from the races to the changeover over. All Night is great here at Skateland. Why don't you give it a try? September ALL NIGHT - 2009 Hippies and Disco Costumes were all rage with the employees. The music had the 70s flavor through out the night. To bad none of the skaters were in costume. So again the employees were voted on by the skaters to decide who would win the $25 prize money. Miss Jody! and Corie! again were the hit of the evening but it was very very close between Miss Della and Miss Jody. Pop corn was EVERYWHERE!!!!! It smelled good and tasted even better but a groan went through the building when cleanup time came this morning. There was dancing off skates, dancing on skates, Hillybilly races, spoon and ball races, and of course DODGE BALL. $20 for 12 hours of skating with food - it is a cheap night with a most excellent time. Every one of us looks forward to the All Night and its costumes. I wonder who Miss Della will be next month? I bet it won't have white disco platform heels. Those killed her feet! Hope to see you here. AUGUST ALL NIGHT - 2009 Elvis, The Pink Ladies, The T-Birds and the Bobby Sock Girls were all here during the August All Night Skate. Cruisin Sundaes( www.CruisinSundae.com) stopped by at 11:30 and gave every All Night Skater a free sundae with 40 toppings to choose from! They did the Limbo, hula hoop contest, tag and races. Terrence kept them busy all night long. The skaters did not dress up but the staff did sooooo we took the prize money, and let the skaters choose the best costumed staff member and gave the prize money to them. Congratulations Miss Jody (The Pink Lady) and Corie (The T-birds). Terrence made a DVD we now have posted on YouTube. Remember next month to dress up because we will be giving out cash prizes to the best dressed girl and guy. JULY ALL NIGHT - 2009 The July Red, White and Blue All Night Skate was so much fun. The cotton candy was yummy and oh so fresh. Made right there in front of you so you knew it was good. Games ruled. We experimented with new games - some worked. Some did not. Back to the drawing board for them. :) Everyone staying all night received red, white and blue beads. The rink was decorated with flashing red, white and blue balloons and flags were everywhere. Did you see the hats? Some of us have really big heads! Check out the pictures. JUNE ALL NIGHT - 2009 June Luau Night was great. There were grass skirts, palm trees and lots of snow cones. Shadada never wants to see the snow cone machine again! :) All the employees were dressed with leis and straw hats. Some even were wearing grass skirts. Derrick looks cool in his hat, skirt, and shades. Every All Night this summer has a theme. We played dodge ball with nerf balls, tag with swimming noodles, relay races and the hillbilly races. We had a blast. Watch this page for more details as each All Night approaches. No passes accepted. | |
